General Mission Statement of the Canterbury DTC
We are open to and welcome civil debate
and points of view that differ from our own.

The CDTC is committed to:

 ■
The open, fair and impartial operation of government in both the creation and application of the laws of the town to all residents and affected parties.

 ■
Providing for those who may need support that is appropriate for the town to provide.

 ■
Providing the best education to all of our students.

 ■
Maintaining the unique rural and historic character of Canterbury, while understanding the needs of residents and the need to grow our tax base.

 ■
Protection of the quality of life that we have all come to enjoy. In doing so, we recognize the need to balance the protection of the environment, economic well being and property rights of residents.

 ■
Engaging in meaningful debate and discussion. We must make decisions based solely on the merits of the issue, rather than the “politics” of a situation, in order to move forward as a town.

 ■
Endorsing the most qualified candidates that are beholden to no-one or group.
