“Now that my daughter has moved beyond the local school system, I feel I can be an impartial, yet informed member of the Board of Education. My four years as PTO President have given me a working knowledge of the needs of parents and teachers as well as provided me with insight into the budgetary process and concerns of the Town. Additionally, my 25 years experience as a clinical counselor has trained me to listen respectfully and impartially which will help me work towards positive solutions and fair outcomes on the Board of Education,” says candidate, Pam Kerouack-Warner.

Heather DeLuca
Heather DeLuca works very hard in her job as a birthing center health care professional to see that babies get off to a healthy start. In her role as BOE member she works equally hard to see that the school children of Canterbury also get a good start. “I believe much progress has been made recently and I would like to see this progress continue. It is my hope that Canterbury’s students continue to be offered a challenging curriculum so they are competitive with their peers around the globe and prepared for success in our ever-changing and demanding world”, she said.
Heather is running for another term on the Board of Education because she believes children deserve to be given the best foundation possible and feels strongly that the Canterbury School system is capable and well-equipped to offer this. During her time serving on the BOE important administrative decisions and changes have been made. She is hopeful these experiences will help her continue to make sound decisions to benefit the children and taxpayers of Canterbury.
Heather earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree from the Community College of Rhode Island and is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). In addition, she is currently working toward a B.S. degree in Maternal /Child Health and works for Eastern Connecticut Health Network in Manchester. She is a member of the First Congregational Church of Canterbury and has served on many of their committees. Additionally, she has also been active in the DHBMS PTO, and through her employment served on a number of committees including the Lactation Support Committee and Community Baby Shower Planning Committee.
Heather and husband Bob have lived in Canterbury for 16 years and have four children. Their eldest son, Schuyler, graduated from NFA and is a sophomore at Hofstra University, daughter Elena and son Greysen attend Woodstock Academy, and Carly, their youngest, attends DHBMS.
